Priority Issues

Investing in Education

Picture
Arizona funds the Department of Corrections more than EVERY SINGLE Community College and University in the state combined!

Currently, our state's priorities are backwards. We need to invest in education to ensure a prosperous future for Arizona. Robust funding for our K-12 education system, as well as support for our higher education infrastructure is vital. I will not approve a budget that does not prioritize funding pre-K - 12 public education, vocational training, and higher education.

Thriving Economy

Picture
Kyle will prioritize investing in Arizonans, and eliminating the extreme racial disparities in Arizona's poverty rates.

We must strengthen our social safety net.  No child should be without a home.  No college student should be hungry. No one should be bankrupted by medical debt. Kyle supports transitioning to universal healthcare, strengthening Social Security, and expanding eligibility/access to SNAP. Healthy businesses require healthy employees. By investing in the social safety net we can ensure a thriving economy.

Climate Justice

Climate Action Now!

Climate change is a serious and pressing issue. With a water crisis on the horizon in much of the state, we must invest in sustainability efforts to protect our valuable resources and promote equity in the fight for a clean Arizona. Everyone deserves access to clean air and fresh water, whether they be surrounded by forests, mountains, or desert. Kyle supports efforts to move Arizona towards renewable, green energy plans that will protect our environment and keep our state beautiful.

Reproductive Rights for All

Abortion is Healthcare.

No matter what the Supreme Court says, we know that abortion is a human right. Kyle will work hard to protect the right to privacy and the right to reproductive healthcare for all in this state. In Arizona, we only have one clinic that can provide abortion access north of Maricopa County. Not only do we need to protect reproductive rights, but we need to expand abortion access in Arizona.

LGBTQ+ Rights

The LGBTQ community is under attack.

Everyone deserves to be safe, respected, and celebrated in their communities. Kyle is dedicated to ensuring that all queer, trans, and non-binary people are protected in Arizona. In his position with the Arizona Students’ Association, Kyle lobbied against HB 2161, a bill that forces educators to disclose a students’ private information to their parents, placing the student in danger of being outed before they are ready and discouraging them from seeking help with teachers and counselors. We must do more to protect our kids and make sure they have the safety to explore and express who they are. We must reform the system that targets trans women of color and gender non-conforming individuals. We must protect and celebrate the diversity that makes our state the wonderful place it is.

Gun Safety

Picture
Picture

110 people die in this country every day from gun related violence.

We have seen far too many tragedies in the last decade, tragedies that we have the power to stop. As a Moms Demand Action Gun Sense Candidate, Kyle will fight for common sense gun safety measures. Measures like background checks for all gun purchases will keep deadly weapons out of the hands of violent criminals and domestic abusers. Legislation like Ethan’s Law requiring the safe and secure storage of guns in households will prevent gun accidents and decrease the risk of suicide among minors. Moves like limiting the sales of semi-automatic weapons will ensure a future where no one needs to fear going to school, to church, to a concert. End gun violence now!
